Workshop for young/new DPCS/HAROSA researchers

June 28th, 2010.

The HAROSA KC is planning to celebrate an informal workshop for young/new DPCS/HAROSA researchers working on different topics. The workshop will take place on June 28th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at IN3-Castelldefels (http://in3.uoc.edu/web/IN3/in3/on_som/com_arribar.html).

The idea is that each young researcher can perform an oral presentation (English or Spanish) of 20-25 minutes and then discuss some of his/her ideas with other young/senior researchers in the room.

Confirmed speakers so far and tentative titles:

* Dra. Alejandra Pérez -> IN3/UOC -> "Reliability issues in large-scale distributed systems: a state of the art"

* Ricardo Solar -> University of Talca (Chile) -> "The modified jumping frost algorithm for the p-medians problems"

* Dragos Ionescu -> MIT (USA) -> "A probabilistic algorithm for the flowshop (scheduling) problem"

* Jorge Simosa -> MIT (USA) -> "Structural reliability using fuzzy-sets"

* Bernardo Ruíz -> IN3/UOC -> "Solving the Vehicle Routing Problem with Stochastic Demands"
